Catching Up

In case you've been wondering what we're up to...

In between visitors coming and going and life in general, the hubs has been working on our studio/garage. The materials to finish the roof are due to arrive this week. Meantime, he's been working on completing the bridge that goes to the side door.  He's pretty handy with a welder.

And there's been lots of weeding...constant weeding, it seems. You think you have weeds? I think we can probably top that...

And the boyz...well, they've just been the boyz...enjoying life to the fullest.

Sa_urday C_n_us

Cycling uphill is crazy hard,

so simply add gas and go go go; fly sky high!

Haha...that Mrs. Jenny. I think she may be losing it. Well, at least it seems she's losing letters. Last week it was E and this week it's T. Our Saturday Centus assignment was to write one sentence without any e's and without any t's...the two most common letters in the English alphabet. Last week I paid homage to the cyclists who road in the Tour of Utah race, and this week it's the motocross guys who are competing at Powder Mountain Ski Resort. Fly high, fly fast!

Stop on over at Mrs. Jenny's and see how the other Centusians fared with this little ditty.

Mascotas

It's Alphabe-Thursday time again over at Mrs. Jenny's and this week marks the marvelous letter M.

In Patagonian Chile (and other Spanish speaking places), M is for Mascota, the Spanish word for pet. The Chileans love their dogs, in particular, and other animals, as well. Here are some mammalian mugshots from Patagonia.

Cattle are not generally considered pets, but I thought this youngster was kinda cute...

Some people have guard dogs; this family had a guard ram. We walked out into the middle of the street to pass, as he was occupying most of the sidewalk. I decided not to find out if he was friendly or ferocious.

One blue eye, one brown eye.

It's not uncommon to see ranch dogs riding on top of the cargo or on top of the truck.

Goats make great pets..and you never need to mow the lawn.

This sad little guy had clearly been mistreated. He wouldn't even look at me. It made me so sad.

Hello, friend. You are my friend, right?

This cute guy made friends with the hubs while we were waiting for the oil to be changed in our truck. Malamute bassett hound mix? What do you think?
Cat on a hot tin roof? No, just on a slippery hood. Caught him as he was sliding off.
This sweet little puppy was hanging out in some flowers on a grave in the cemetery at Punta Arenas. He had huge feet and was clearly going to be a BIG dog.

Well, if you're done here, march on over to Mrs. Jenny's and see the magical musings of the other Alphabetarians.

Please Come Visit!

I love when friends from out of town come to visit. First, Marcel from Germany. Then Lyn from SF. Who's gonna be next? It gives me an excuse...like I need it...to get out and see what's in my own back yard. So, please, twist my arm. Make me do it!!

Big Red Ball

It seems that there are fires everywhere. This was the sun coming up this morning. Shadows all around us have an orange glow.

Princess Pippi Comes to Town

It might be just Monday for some people. But at our house, it was a special day. The boyz even got baths...because they were about to have a special guest. Princess Pippi was coming for a visit.

She's no ordinary Scottie...but then no Scottie is ordinary, or so we've come to find out. But she lives in a semi-truck rolling around the country with her peops and living the life. We were thrilled when we learned that she was stopping in Utah for a few days and we'd actually get to meet her.

She had to check out the tunnel...she was a little unsure at first...

...and of course, the experience wouldn't be complete without sitting on the hub's lap with the boys... she was a good sport, but all three of them had other things in mind...

She's not the least bit camera shy, since she's spent some time in the modeling world with her mom, Abigail.

The boyz showed her the view from the deck and told her all about the wild animals that live out there...She didn't seem concerned.

We all thought she was really cute and loved having her visit.

They were on their best behavior, and so it was easy for her to make herself at home.

"Wow, is that really a rabbit over there?" Even Thump came out to play.

The interest was mutual, and Thump was eager to check her out too.

We're glad that Abigail and Pippi came to visit. It was fun to meet both of them. But next time, they need to bring Josh too!

Hurry back, Pippi. We loved having you here (and your mom too).
