Our Little Shangri-La
Most people I know have a place that is special to them...one that evokes memories rich with emotion or sentiment. Having traveled all over the world, I'm fortunate to have many such places. But one that is particularly special to me and my husband is the chunk of land in southern Chile in Patagonia that we call our second home. It is a place of grand wide open space, of ever-changing landscapes, of peace and quiet, of experiencing the mystery and forces of nature and of appreciating our divine connection with God.

On the Edge of a Season
We had a mix of snow and rain today, the first of the season, just like it was when we were last in Patagonia. In Chile, the seasons were on the verge of changing from winter to spring...always the opposite of what we have at home.
No matter the season, though, I love the raw beauty of the place and never grow weary of it. It is a good reminder to me that this earth is a gift and a wondrous creation and that we should show our appreciation for it by taking care of it in whatever ways we know how.
