A Winter's Walk on a Fall Day

The day started out so foggy that we could barely see the trees that surround our home...and it stayed that way until early afternoon. Then the fog suddenly lifted and the outdoors beckoned us to come... so we did.

My husband likes to say that to live where we do, one has to embrace the winter. On days like this, it's easy to do!

Seeing these clumps of berries with the snow caps made me think of a bunch of gnomes in the forest.

Jake was onto a deer trail.

Sometimes you just have to roll with it!
There's nothing like a little nap under the coffee table after a good romp in the snow.

Do your kids get the nasty snow/ice clumps under their legs?

Abigail, they do...they're like little white pompoms...and they're just as hard to remove with a comb as stickers and burrs. But if we don't remove them, we find little puddles throughout the house from when they melt.
