Remember to Remember

The food will be beautifully presented with all the trimmings, the familiar aromas hanging heavy in the air, children and husbands waiting as patiently as they can. At long last the words “we gather together to ask the Lord's blessing*" will be pronounced and the clinking of silver on china will be heard.

But for many, the day will be bleak and cold. No family gathered round about. No food for the belly. Only the longing for some semblance of normalcy.

Let us give thanks for our abundance and help us to remember to reach out to those who are without.

*It's Saturday Centus time again at Mrs. Jenny's house and you can tell she's preparing for Thanksgiving and gathering in all her loved ones

And what's going on at our house?...snow, snow and more snow...and a few (OK, way way way too many) moths (pesky buggers)...but mostly lots of gratitude for our countless blessings.

Oh mom, can we puhleeez come in? Don't you know how cold it is out here?

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration and remember, remember what it's for...Thanks Giving!

so many without, we should be thankful for every morsel and opportunities that come our way, and share with those without, so true :)

Yes, thank you, Anita, for this important reminder. We have so much reason to be thankful -and extend a hand- every day.
Have a warm Thanksgiving.

What wonderful photos! We always try to include at our table those who have no family near to celebrate our good fortune.

Lovely thoughts! I know whenever it is snowing or there is a big storm of any kind outside, I think of how thankful I am for a roof over my head and I think of people without one and wish I could do more.

I think it is our duty to help where we can, spread laughter and sustenance when we are able...and to remember that 'there but for the grace of God go I'.

This was wonderfully poignant and touching.

I really loved this Anita!

And please, please let those little guys inside out of the snow! They look shivery cold!
