No slamming doors. No harsh words. That’s how it had always been before. But not this time. Just a heavy silence as he trailed behind her while she gathered the last of her things. She was matter-of-fact as she breezed past him, leaving a hint of ice in the air.
His eyes pleaded with her. And then his voice. “Wait. There’s more...”. Her hand went up to silence him.
“No, there’s not,” she said with finality as she walked through the door for the last time.
In the cab, she looked at the ticket in her lap. Reykjavik, Iceland. She smiled.

Since I've had so many kind and generous comments regarding the photos of Patagonia I've been posting for Alphbe-Thursday (thank you for that), I thought I'd write a little fictional ditty that would allow me to share a few images from a trip I took to the opposite end of the world a couple years ago. Welcome to Iceland, a place with its own mystery and magic. Hope you enjoyed the little detour.
