A Carnivore's Dream...

That Mrs. Jenny...sometimes I think she's full of baloney and sometimes I think she's got a mean streak in her. It's Saturday Centus time and what does she give us for our prompt!? A carnivore's delight for a Christmas tree ... yup, complete with meat ornaments ...a little Lady Gaga-ish, if you ask me. Check it out by clicking here, if you don't believe me...

Personally, I prefer the more minimalist approach...something sweet like these little guys growing outside our home...

But back to Mrs. Jenny's tree...here's my take on this decorating disaster doozie...

A Christmas tree all decked in meat,
Beckons me in; it’s ready to eat.
No colorful glass balls or glitter or tinsel,
Just pepperoni and sausage and oodles of schnitzel.

A garland of lettuce to make it look healthy,
With this much meat I’m feeling quite wealthy.
No need for gifts under the tree,
This one’s edible and for you, it’s FREE!

Oh my, what do I hear on my roof?
I swear it sounds like a thundering hoof.
Oh yay, I’m so thrilled to be awake,
Cuz that meaty dream made my poor heart quake!!

Have a Very Merry (vegan) Christmas…ho ho ho ...
if you want to see what the other Centusians had to say about this tasty tree, click here...
and keep your eyes open for nature's own dazzling display...

Be sure to check out yesterday's post...glistening fog and trees flocked white, like Casper the ghost!

Your poem made me smile! I recently heard of a "Toiletree" idea, where a group of people were decorating trees with toiletries for giving away to needy people. Tissue paper, lotions, soaps, etc. were hung on the tree and then given out. Interesting idea, huh?
