The Spirit of Christmas

It's Christmas week....only a few days left until Santa arrives.

I keep asking myself, 'what is the true spirit of Christmas'? For some, it’s waiting at the window for Santa to arrive.

Or looking at the lights and ornaments on the tree with child-like wonder.

For some it's just the season marked by snow on the ground and icy streams.

Or dashing through the snow...

...in a one horse (OK, maybe 100+ hp) open sleigh.

For me, it’s about celebrating the birth of Christ, who’s given His all for us. What gifts can we give Him? Afterall, it’s His birthday. Maybe we can give Him the few simple things He’s asked for. Our faith. Our commitment. Our obedience. And most of all, our love for one another.

Merry Christmas to all.

p.s. Normally it would be Alphabe-Thursday over at Mrs. Jenny's, but it's winter break. If you want to see what the other Alphabe-tarians are doing, click here.

Loved your photos! You gave us a feel for that wonderful snowy Christmas that we all dream about. The little snow we had a while back melted rapidly, but I think we have a slight chance for some flurries today!
