She knew that they were all going to the climbing gym. She knew it because she had seen them making plans on facebook. NOT because they had invited her. They hadn’t.
She didn’t care. Climbing a fake rock wall inside an old stinky warehouse was stupid anyway. Playing with her latest photo app on her iPhone would be way more fun. She’d turn all their faces into cartoon caricatures. That’s what she really thought of them.
So what if they never thought to invite her to their stupid activities. She didn’t need them. She didn’t care.

Well, not that much….
Seems like it was just Saturday, and here we are again. I've been soooo busy lately that the weeks just go by in a blur and I barely have time to post on the blog. But Saturday means it's Saturday Centus time, and I love to play along. This week dear Mrs. Jenny gave us a photo of a climbing wall as the prompt...'plus100 words', she said. OK, gotta go check Facebook and see if anyone's invited me to anything.
Be sure to swing on over to Mrs. Jenny's and see how the other Centusians fared with that wall.

Aww, the poor girl not getting invited - so sad. I loved her pouting face and the other pictures though lol.
Lovely writing, Anita, about a sad and lonely girl. I like the way you have her rationalize her situation to be okay.
I think a lot of kids learn to do that. But still we know they'd rather be invited to the fun. I think I can remember being in her shoes, can you?
Jim's Saturday Centus

wonderfully written ... i felt so sorry for her ... just wanted to shield her from further hurt.
and those pictures ... creepy!!!
Where those faces of the ones who ignored her on purpose? Then, kudos to her for being normal, and vengeful without being so.
wait...this being a prompt, the whole non-inviting thing didn't really happen. right?
Fiction for me but all too real for many others who feel marginalized in some way...
I'm not a Saturday Centus person, but check out others posts occasionally just to see if I want to try. Hmmm, not ready yet! Think the two or three blog posts I do per week are enough to keep me busy!
Yep, and FB can be a cruel weapon.
=)
I guess we've all been there, and you portrayed those feelings so well. But, don't ever get mad at me and turn my picture into something like that. My pictures are bad enough without any of those kind of embellishments! laurie @ http://dealingwithmyinnercritic.blogspot.com/
I HATE when they don't invite me!
Our son has a boat and this happens all the time.
I am planning to be busy if we ever get an invite...
...but I'm wondering if that's not 'cutting off my nose to spite my face'! As my Grandma used to say!
This was a fun read!
She can hang out with me!
