Words Words Words

There are times when words can be puzzling.
And times when they are clear.
Times when they comfort.
And times they endear.

Words can cut like a newly honed knife.
At times they can destroy a fragile life.
Words can incite, excite and invite.
They can be just enough to start a fight.

The right words at the right moment can be a delight.
At times, though, it is best to let words rest for the night.

It's been a tough week in the world. Violence. Hatred. Misunderstanding. Anger. Vitriol. Ah, if only men would learn to use the power of words in a more compassionate, caring and loving way, wouldn't we all be so much better off?

Another Saturday Centus. The prompt is in red above. Be sure to stop by Mrs. Jenny's and see what the other Centusians are puzzling over.

p.s. sometimes images can be puzzling too....like when there is no rhyme or reason. It's OK...there doesn't always have to BE rhyme or reason.

I think the world would be much better if it was ruled by women ! Men always rattle with weapons, because they can't communicate !

Well, since English is my third language, I have made enough mistakes in my English as a word can mean so many different things in the way it is used and intonation. Wonderful poem. I love how you said that words can incite, excite and invite. Great words there!Mine is here
Have you an AWESOME WEEKEND!

Yes! Words have started many a war at home and abroad. If we would only learn to choose them carefully.

I really like your poem and your photos are thought provoking as well.

Oh I sure do agree with your closing comment. As for your photos, why they speak volumes too, and yes it is amazing how many things words are, and why it's so easy to be misunderstood, or confuse or even puzzled!

I so agree with your thoughts at the end, Anita. It is troubling that words are used as weapons and instruments of unrest.

Oh Anita.

I feel this way, too.

And I thought your pictures were wonderful.

Nothing can wound like words spoken in anger and ugliness.

Some wounds never heal.
