Lago General Carrera

It's Alphabe-Thursday once again. This week we're looking at the lovely letter L. Continuing my photo journey through Chilean Patagonia, we look at Lago General Carrera.

When we go to Patagonia, we spend much of our time at Lago General Carrera. It's the second largest lake in S. America (after Lake Titicaca in Peru). It's a crazy turquoise color. The water is cold and clear and clean. That's because it's fed from glaciers and it's largely uninhabited/undeveloped. It's a six hour drive on a road that is mostly unpaved and filled with potholes and other obstacles, but it's well worth the drive if you're adventurous.

Be sure to look at Mrs. Jenny's place and see what the other Alphabetarians like about the letter L by clicking HERE.

Wow - very beautiful lake and landscape photos! When I read the title I first thought 'ah, lago... Lago Maggiore' - LOL - quite a different corner of the world. For Alphabe-Thursday I chose also a Lago/Lake/Lac/Lac Bay

All of your pictures are so beautiful. I love these landscape ones. Makes me want to be there and be where you are taking pictures. If that makes sense. LOL

My dear Anita,
The water looks like it is sleeping and waiting for ONLY your smile to be awaken (smile). Great pictures as always.

That's a very pretty lake, Anita. There would be one trouble for me, the six-hour drive.

I guess it really would depend on what there was between where I started and the lake. I wouldn't want to drive six hours in a wilderness.

Carrera. I love that name. It feels like a piece of silk in my mouth when I say it!

What a lovely place. I suspect all your troubles would fall away within minutes of finding a rock to sit on here!

Just lovely.

Thank you for sharing this calm and beautiful place with us for the letter "L".
