I love trees. Always have. I find the desert fascinating but can't imagine living in a place that has no trees. I grew up with trees - bays, redwoods, eucalyptus and oaks, mostly. I'm accustomed to them having green leaves - always. But here, the trees have a life of their own and this is their season of starkness when they take on a ghostly quality. They're beautiful nonetheless. Where there are trees, there is life. I like that about trees.

I'm a tree freak. I'm not sure why, but they just make me feel good. We've lost a lot of the monterey pines in our area lately...more than 1,000...due to a beetle infestation. It's really sad and changes the skyline.

Looking at your pictures, it is amazing to see that these trees can come back from that kind of weather and have life and give life as well. Thank you for the pictures.
