Another Sunday Afternoon

It's hard for me to believe that it was only a few short weeks ago that I was bemoaning the fact that there was still so much snow on the ground and spring had not arrived. The transformation over that short time has been nothing short of miraculous.

There is still lots of snow on the mountains - at least one ski resort has reopened for weekends and others are planning to stay open through July 4. Nonetheless, the temperatures are rising and everywhere you look there are flowing creeks, streams and rivers.

I never get tired of looking at them, hearing the sound they make and of course, photographing them. And the vivid green of the landscape is breathtaking.

Today's photos are from our afternoon walk. It's a nice time for us to reflect on the day, the week, and life in general. These walks only serve to make me more grateful for this beautiful place. It reinforces my belief that there is a God who loves us very much. It feeds my soul in ways that are hard to express.

These are sandhill cranes. They arrive each spring with great fanfare... I love the way they "bark" to signal to each other that danger might be near. There voices can be heard from great distances. They are huge birds, standing around 4 feet tall. I think they are very cool.

Okay, I'll tell it like it is.

I wasn't envious of your environment at all this winter.

But oh boy, I am now!!!

And the photos are simply beautiful, Anita.
