Last summer and fall, we made lots of trips to the junk yard to buy scrap metal and other materials for various building projects related to completing our home. We haven't been all winter, but had to make a trip there today to purchase some parts for a tool that Robb is building. I had forgotten what a fun place it is. OK, I know that sounds crazy, but I always come away with a bunch of photos of odd things.
Like these steel magnolias...
...or Robb, dumpster diving. Note the sign that is clearly posted on the dumpster.
Or these things...I have no idea what they are, but I like them...
Robb explained that this has something to do with railroad cars and how they are sorted and arranged on the tracks. OK. Whatever. Sorry, if you are offended. I just think it's funny. And the signs are not exactly tiny...the letters are probably 2' tall.
...Another sign... how could it be dirty if it's stainless?
As might be expected, there are lots of car parts...
Maybe this is WHY there are so many car parts...
Anyway, call me crazy, but I love junk and junk yards.
